Title I, Part A

Title I, Part A is a federal program designed “to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.” Title I, Part A can support students receiving early learning services and in kindergarten through Grade 12.

These programs and services provide customized instruction and curricula that helps students meet academic standards and take an active, engaged interest in what they learn and can do. Title I, Part A programs build equity of opportunity for children whose struggles often keep them on the academic sidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Parent and Family Engagement Policy

A written parent and family engagement policy explains how a school will support the important role families play in the education of their children. Every school that receives Title I, Part A funds must have a written parent and family engagement policy.

Each school’s written parent and family engagement policy outlines the goals and actions it will take to develop an effective partnership with families and identifies how these goals and actions will be implemented. It is an opportunity for clearer communication and meaningful collaboration with families. Visit your school's website to read the Parent and Family Engagement Policy.
