College In The High School
Our district partners with Central Washington University and the University of Washington to bring the College in the High School program to our high school campuses. This program enables high school students to remain on the high school campus and receive dual credit (high school and college) for a variety of courses.
Classes are taught by qualified high school teachers who work closely with the university to ensure that the work the students perform in the high school course is equivalent to a similar course taught on the college campus. College in the High School courses are free for students, and no fees are paid by families to the college for credit.
Courses are available to students in Grades 10-12 who pass each institution's placement test. Each institution has unique placement tests and they are available at each high school and cost students $15 per test. This fee is waived if a student qualifies for the free and reduced-price meals.
Enrollment in College in the High School courses starts a student’s college transcript at the corresponding college regardless of the student’s performance in the course. Credits earned may count as an elective credit if transferred to another college. Learn more about College in the High School course equivalencies at councilofpresidents.org/dual-credit.
