AVID

AVID provides a roadmap for student success in their post-secondary life.

Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) students overcome obstacles and achieve success. They graduate and attend college at higher rates, but more importantly, they can think critically, collaborate, and set high expectations to confidently conquer the challenges that await them.

For one period a day, students receive the additional academic, social, and emotional support that will help them succeed in their school’s most rigorous courses.

In 2012, Hanford and Richland high schools started with one section of freshmen AVID students. Now, combined, Hanford and Richland high schools have 19 sections serving 400 students!
