Nicole Anderson Named Next River's Edge High School Principal

Nicole Anderson will be the next principal of River’s Edge High School and will lead efforts to transform the school and bring in new ideas that will help students be successful after gradaution.

Anderson, currently an assistant principal at Richland High School, was one of several candidates considered for the role. She will finish the current school year at Richland High while transitioning to her new position.

“Mrs. Anderson has a big heart for students as well as an ability to lead and inspire teachers,” says Assistant Superintendent Todd Baddley. “She will bring dynamic leadership to River’s Edge to ensure students can learn and grow in innovative ways.”

Anderson has a 22-year career in education, the bulk of it spent in Richland. She taught at Richland High School for seven years before becoming the assistant principal at the private Christ The King School in 2007. She eventually became Christ The King’s principal before returning to Richland High as an administrator in 2014.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Washington University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Washington State University. Her administrative certification is from Seattle Pacific University.

Anderson replaces Principal Dan Chubb who will retire at the end of the 2018-19 school year. The district will work with Anderson and school staff over the coming year to develop a new vision and programming for the school that helps students graduate and take the next steps in their futures.

“River’s Edge is the kind of school I’ve dreamed of becoming a part of,” Anderson says. “River’s Edge is a place where staff care deeply for their students and I am excited to work with staff and students as we transform the school into an even more powerful experience for students.”
