Virtual Storytime To Celebrate Read Across America Day On March 2

The community is invited to celebrate Read Across America Day on Tuesday, March 2 by tuning into virtual storytime events with celebrity readers.

RSD students can log in independently or with their families to hear the stories via Zoom. Attendees will only be able to see the reader and there will be no audio or video interaction between attendees and the reader.

SCHEDULE:

  • 9 to 9:20 a.m. — Reno Wilson (Officer Carl McMillan on Mike and Molly) reading Yertle the Turtle by Dr. Seuss. LISTEN TO THIS STORY 
     
  • 9:30 to 9:50 a.m. — Cate Freedman (AJ Feldman on Teachers) reading The Youngest Marcher: The Story of Audrey Faye Hendricks, a Young Civil Rights Activist by Cynthia Levinson. LISTEN TO THIS STORY 
     
  • 2 to 2:20 p.m. — Cheryl Texiera (Katy Hart on Girl Meets World) reading Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? by Dr. Seuss. LISTEN TO THIS STORY 
     
  • 2:30 –2:50 p.m. — Romi Dames (Traci Van Horn on Hannah Montana) reading The Ballad of Nessie by Kieran Lachlan. LISTEN TO THIS STORY 

An RSD administrator or other district staff member will serve as a substitute reader in case of technical issues or schedule conflict.
