Tapteal Elementary and Libby Middle School Recognized by State for Growth

We are proud to announce that two of our schools have been recognized by the Washington School Recognition Program for their outstanding performance during the 2024–2025 school year! This program is jointly operated by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), The Washington State Board of Education, and Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee.

The following schools have earned statewide honors:

  • Leona Libby Middle School – Growth for: Low-income students
  • Tapteal Elementary – Growth for: Students in one or more racial or ethnic groups

This recognition places these schools among the top 16% of schools across Washington, highlighting their commitment to student success and continuous improvement.

Schools recognized for growth have at least one student group who made some of the largest gains in the state across multiple measures between the 2023–24 to 2024–25 school years. These measures include English language arts or math scores, attendance, graduation rates and more —while also helping to narrow gaps between student groups.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment to excellence and equity demonstrated by Tapteal Elememtary and Leona Libby Middle School!
