Statement From Richland School Board On The Superintendent Position

The Richland School Board is saddened to announce that Mark Davidson has withdrawn his acceptance of the Board’s offer to become the next superintendent of Richland School District.

The withdrawal is a result of the circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainty it presents. Mr. Davidson wants to express his sincere appreciation to the Richland community for their "welcoming spirit, kindness and professionalism".

The Board firmly believes Mr. Davidson was the right hire for the district and knows many in the community were looking forward to him becoming a part of RSD. Board members wish him the best as he leads his current district through these very difficult times.

The Board wants to assure families, students and staff that its first priority is opening schools in the fall and that board members will be evaluating options for the superintendent position over the next several weeks. The Board is also very confident in district staff and have full faith and confidence in their ability to close school for the summer and provide solid plans for opening school next year.
