RSD Students Earn International Recognition at Regeneron ISEF

Two Richland School District students have earned international recognition for their outstanding research projects at the prestigious 2026 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world’s largest global science competition for high school students.

Held May 9-15 at the Phoenix Convention Center, ISEF brought together more than 1,700 young scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and innovators from grades 9-12 representing over 75 countries, regions, and territories. Students competed for more than $7 million in awards and scholarships while sharing their research with peers and STEM leaders from around the world.

Winners from RSD included:

  • Prayrona Choudhury, a junior at Hanford High School, earned second place in the Earth and Environmental Sciences category for her research project, AquaShift: Synchronized Chemical Equilibrium Convergence as a Leading Indicator of Phycocyanin-Threshold Cyanobacterial Bloom Onset Across Contrasting Freshwater Systems.”
  • Sai Motkuri, a sophomore at Richland High School, was awarded a Fellowship Scholarship from Non-Trivial Ventures for his project, ArogyaLoka: HealthBridge AI – Empowering Underserved Patients Across the Developing World Through a Multilingual, AI-Powered System for Equitable Medical Guidance, Diagnostic Image Support, and Health Monitoring.”

We congratulate Prayrona and Sai on their remarkable achievements and their dedication to scientific inquiry, innovation, and problem-solving. Their accomplishments reflect the exceptional talent and hard work of our students and the strong support of our educators, families, and community.
