Richland Schools Recognized by Washington School Recognition Program

The Richland School District is proud to announce that two of its schools have been recognized by the Washington School Recognition Program for their outstanding performance during the 2023–2024 school year. This program is jointly operated by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), State Board of Education, and Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee.

The following schools have earned statewide honors:

  • Orchard Elementary – Recognized for Growth
  • Sacajawea Elementary – Recognized for Closing Gaps

This recognition places these schools among the top 16% of schools across Washington, highlighting their commitment to student success and continuous improvement.

Schools honored with Closing Gaps are recognized for significant progress in areas needing improvement, such as assessment scores, English learner progress, dual credit completion, or graduation rates. Schools honored with Growth are schools with at least one student group making some of the state’s largest annual gains in performance measures like attendance, assessments, dual credit completion, or graduation rates.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment to excellence and equity demonstrated by Orchard and Sacajawea Elementary Schools!
