The Richland FFA team has achieved an impressive result at the National FFA Floriculture Career Development Event (CDE), held during the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis. Team members Lachlan Bradley, Jordan Jelinek, Abbey Bobbett, and Madelyn Hawley proudly represented Richland FFA, securing second place in the team competition. Additionally, Abbey Bobbett earned a prestigious 7th place finish in the individual competition nationally.
The National FFA Floriculture CDE is designed to test FFA members' knowledge and skills in the floriculture industry, encompassing both the production and retailing of flowers, plants, and foliage. Participants engage in a comprehensive examination, including plant identification, problem-solving, and decision-making exercises. They also showcase their employment, customer service, and technical floral skills, while demonstrating effective teamwork.
As part of this esteemed event, the top ten individuals and winning team members received cash awards in recognition of their dedication and success. This CDE is one of many educational experiences offered during the national convention, where FFA members apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios, fostering both professional and personal growth.
Richland School District congratulates the FFA team for their dedication, hard work, and outstanding achievement on the national stage. Their performance reflects the strength of the FFA program and the commitment of our students to excellence in agriculture education.
