From RHS Graduate to Principal, New School Leader Comes Full Circle

Richland School District is pleased to announce that Nicole Anderson has been selected as the new principal of Richland High School beginning in the 2023-24 school year.

Ms. Anderson is a veteran school administrator who most recently served as principal of River’s Edge High School since 2018. Prior to her time at River’s Edge, she served as assistant principal at Richland High from 2014-2018. Ms. Anderson has also served as an administrator at Christ the King School and was an English teacher at Richland High for six years.

“Ms. Anderson brings an abundance of knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm to her role as an administrator,” says Richland School District Executive Director Tory Christensen. “After already spending a third of her life being a Bomber, we are looking forward to her continued support of the RHS community.”

As principal, Ms. Anderson was a key leader in the reimagining of River’s Edge by incorporating a new Project Based Learning model and introducing a standards-based grading and learning environment. She was instrumental at creating a more personalized high school experience for students by keeping them interested, engaged and invested in their education.

“I look forward to using my leadership skills in leading this high school program, along with building positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community,” she says.

Ms. Anderson holds a bachelor’s in Education from Eastern Washington University and a master’s in Educational Leadership from Washington State University. Her principal certification is from Seattle Pacific University. Ms. Anderson is a graduate of Richland High School.
