Five RSD High School Seniors Awarded HAAP Scholarships

Hispanic Academic Achievers Program (HAAP) celebrates the academic achievements of Hispanic students in grades 4-12.

This year, more than 625 RSD students have been recognized for their academic excellence, 3.0+ GPA (secondary students) and Hispanic Heritage.

In addition, five RSD high school seniors were awarded scholarships for their academic success.

• Ana Fumero Lora, Richland High School, $27,500 Heritage University Scholarship, with a potential value of $110,000. She plans to attend Heritage University, where she intends to study psychology. She will be the first in her family to attend college.

• Emily Alcantara Roldan, Richland High School, $2,500 scholarship from Richland Education Association. She plans to study psychology at the University of Washington.

• Elisa Reka, Hanford High School, $2,500 scholarship from Hanford Tank Waste Operations and Closure. She plans to study chemistry at Whitworth University, then transfer to the University of Washington.

• Adilynne Towery, Richland High School, $2,500 scholarship from Hanford Mission Integration Solutions. She plans to study neuroscience at the University of Washington.

• Tatianah Perez, Hanford High School, $1,000 scholarship from HAAP. She plans to study psychology at Washington State University Tri-Cities.
