Fall 2024 BIMAS-2 Testing

In our continuing efforts to support the well-being of our students, a universal screener will be given to your child in the upcoming months to report on their social, emotional & behavioral health. The survey will take approximately ten minutes to complete. The screener used for this purpose is the Behavior Intervention Monitoring and Assessment System-Second Edition (BIMAS-2). The BIMAS-2 provides a range of information regarding the academic, emotional, social and behavioral functioning of school-aged youth.

This information helps us to understand the strengths and needs of our students and to make effective plans at the whole school, class, and individual level.  We are continually working to support the needs of our school community, including school-wide programs such as positive behavioral interventions and supports and our social-emotional learning curriculum, Character Strong. It is important that your child feel that academic learning is their focus at school and that the adults they work with each day are doing all they can to create a safe and supportive environment.

This survey is confidential, similar to the confidentiality of your student’s educational records. Parents may request a copy of the screening results by contacting the school office. This information will not be part of your student’s transcripts or anything a college or future employer can access.

Additional information about your school’s testing window, opt-out forms and more will be sent through ParentSquare by your school in the upcoming months.
