Several RSD middle school students were recognized recently at the Mead Jazz Festival! Carmichael Middle School’s Advanced Jazz Band earned first place in the Middle School Finals Division. Additional trophies were handed out to Carmichael’s Jazz Lab Band for placing first in the Middle School Prelims for the 2nd Band Division and the school’s Advanced Jazz Band for placing second in the Prelims in the 1st Band Division.
Several students were honored as Outstanding Fest Musicians including Carmichael Middle School’s Andrew Watt, Teagan Sams, Harper Hagen and Kelly Pham; Chief Joseph Middle School students Keilana Trujillo and Kayla Davis; and Enterprise Middle School students Charlotte Ashby, Gideon Shoemaker and Von Germain
The Mead Jazz Festival is one of the premier jazz events in the region, where students can come showcase their talents, while connecting with and learning from some of the best professors and professional musicians.
