Community Based Transition Center

Offering our adult students authentic experiences and schedules, preparing them for their futures as thriving citizens of our community after graduation.

Community Based Transition Center (CBTC) is a transition services program at the Richland School District located at the Teaching & Learning Administration Center on Keene Road in West Richland. CBTC has three designated classrooms specifically designed for transition services with a furnished kitchen.

Students will have access to services and facilities in the local community and can utilize public transportation to/from CBTC.

Eligibility

  • Adult students (18-21) currently accessing self-contained instructional placement at a district high school
  • Students who benefit from high level of staff support
  • Students eligible for Department of Disabilities Administration services
  • Students able to work independently for at least 5 minutes
  • Students who maintain safe behavior within the community

Participation in CBTC is an IEP team decision.

CBTC Shop

Help support CBTC! All products are handmade by students in the transition center. Students participate in all aspects of the business to increase their work readiness skills.
