The State of Washington provides health plans for medical, dental and vision care for all school employees across the state. This insurance program is managed by the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) of the Washington State Health Care Authority. All staff who work at least 630 hours in a school year qualify for full benefits. 

Open Enrollment 2024

2024 Open Enrollment for the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Program’s health care benefits runs from Monday, Oct. 30 to Monday, Nov. 20.

Open enrollment is your opportunity to make changes to your health plan benefits, with changes effective January 1, 2024.

Check out these opportunities to learn about your SEBB benefits and get assistance.

  • Nov. 6, 2023: SEBB Benefit Fair, 4-7 p.m., Columbia Basin College (H Building, Gjerde Center) 2600 N. 20th Ave, Pasco. 
    • Learn about your health plan and other insurance options
  • Nov. 8, 2023: RSD Enrollment Assistance Fair, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m., TLAC boardroom (6972 Keene Road, West Richland). 
    • Come and learn about new supplemental benefits and get questions answered about SEBB options.

What Changes Can I Make?

  • Change medical, dental and vision plans.
  • Add or remove dependents.
  • Reattest to the spouse or state-registered domestic partner premium surcharge (SRDP) (if you received a letter asking you to reattest.)
  • Enroll in the Medical FSA, Limited Purpose FSA, or DCAP through Navia Benefit Solutions.
  • Consider your long-term disability insurance coverage.
  • Waive your medical coverage if you are enrolled in other employer-based group medical, a TRICARE plan, or Medicare.
  • Enroll in medical coverage if you previously waived.
     

How Do I Make Changes?

Starting October 30, 2023, you can make changes by:

  • Logging into SEBB My Account, or
  • Submitting a School Employee Change form and any other required documents to your payroll or benefits office.
  • 2024 forms will be available on the Health Care Authority website under Forms and Publications on October 30
