Policy 4316 - Waiver: Permission to Release Information to the Media

Parents/guardians or employees may authorize officials of Richland School District to release information about their child or themselves in response to media inquiries. They may further permit news media representatives to release this information to the public. This may be done by way of a written waiver signed by the appropriate party. This waiver will allow the release of information regarding specific incidents that involve students or employees and relieve the District of the responsibility to protect students’ and employees’ right to privacy.
