Policy 3412 - Scoliosis

The Board recognizes that curvature of a student's spine may develop into a permanent, crippling disability if left unattended. The Board directs the superintendent to establish procedures to implement scoliosis and kyphosis screening for all students at least three times between grades 4 and 11 in accordance with procedures and standards adopted by the State Board of Health, the Superintendent of Public Instruction, and the Department of Health.
