Procedure 1120 - Election of Officers

The election of officers shall occur according to the following procedures: 

  1. A quorum of members must be present and voting. 
  2. No proxy votes will be allowed. 
  3. Members will be asked to state whether they agree to be considered for the office of president. 
  4. Each member will draw a number to determine the sequence of voting. 
  5. The member with the lowest number will orally declare the name of the person he/she prefers as president. 
  6. Other members will declare in numeric order. 
  7. The person receiving a majority of the vote shall be deemed elected. 
  8. In the absence of a majority for one candidate, board members will ballot again for one of the two candidates receiving the greatest number of votes on the initial ballot. 
  9. An identical procedure shall be employed in the selection of vice president and legislative representative.
