Extended School Year (ESY)
ESY is a service provided for eligible students in the Richland School District with special education services. Eligibility is determined by the IEP team at each student’s annual IEP meeting. The IEP team will look at student data to determine ESY eligibility.
ESY eligibility is determined reviewing student data and the following areas are considerations for eligibility:
- Regression
- Lack of Recoupment
- Professional Judgment
- Emerging Skills
- Nature and Severity of Disability
- Rate of progress towards IEP goals
- Other Extenuating Circumstances
