Education Placement Options

Students ages 3-5 who have been identified with a disability and are in need of specially designed instruction as determined by the IEP team.

School Site: Early Learning Center

Services provided by a variety of delivery options in the general education setting. These services are determined by the IEP team.

Pull-Out Services are most often Resource Room services. Pull-out services are for the purpose of supplementing the general education instruction of students with disabilities who are in need of supplemental instruction. Students receive specially designed instruction from a special education teacher (or paraeducator) in small groups in a separate location.

Extended Resource Rooms (ERR) have more intensive supports for students than what are typically found in the Resource Room setting. These classrooms have a lower student-to-teacher ratio than general education.

BESST classrooms have more intensive supports for students than what are typically found in the Resource Room setting. These classrooms have a lower student-to-teacher ratio than general education and a higher level of behavioral supports. 

School Sites: Lewis and Clark and Sacajawea Elementary Schools; Chief Joseph and Enterprise Middle Schools; Hanford High School

Life Skills classrooms have more intensive supports for students than what are typically found in the Resource Room setting. These classrooms have a lower student-to-teacher ratio than general education and a focus on teaching functional academics and living skills.

School Sites: Desert Sky, Jefferson and Orchard Elementary Schools; Enterprise Middle School; Hanford and Richland High Schools

Structured classrooms have more intensive supports for students than what are typically found in the Resource Room setting. These classrooms have a lower student-to-teacher ratio than general education and a higher level of structure and predictability. 

School Sites: Badger Mountain, Marcus Whitman and White Bluffs Elementary Schools; Leona Libby Middle School; Richland High School

This classroom is designed to be flexible to meet the needs of students in their boundary school.These classrooms have a lower student-to-teacher ratio than general education. Classrooms utilize a high level of structure and are designed to meet a variety of students needs that cannot be met by the other settings in the building per the IEP team.
