Through a partnership with Sodexo our schools provide students with healthy and nutritious meals to support their learning and growth.
Free and Reduced Price Meals
While weekly meal packets for all children are being provided free through the 2020-21 school year, we encourage families to apply online for free and reduced price school meals if they are eligible. You will need your student’s 8-digit ID number for the online application. You may also print and complete a hard copy form and provide it to your child's school.
Applications are processed in the order in which they are received. Parents are encouraged to submit applications early.
Some families automatically qualify for free or reduced price meals through the direct certification process. If you receive a notification letter saying your child has automatically qualified, then you do not need to submit an application. Please check the letter carefully to make sure all your children are listed.

Food Allergies & Substitutions
If your student has a medically-certified disability that requires a change or substitution to the posted menu, please fill out the Request For Special Dietary Accommodations form and provide to your school nurse. The school nurse and RSD Director of Nutrition Services will review your form to make accommodations. A copy of this form will be kept with the school nurse, school kitchen and at the Nutrition Service Department office. The school nurse may route it further if needed.
All Request for Special Dietary Accommodation forms must include the signature of a state-recognized medical authority (state-licensed health care professionals authorized to write medical prescriptions under state law). These include health professionals with one of the following credentials:
- Medical Doctor (MD)
- Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
- Physician’s Assistant (PA) with prescriptive authority
- Naturopathic Physician
- Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)
