WEBSITE PROBLEMS?

Spring is here and there are many changes in store at White Bluffs Elementary.  Not only will you see the grass turning green, the trees and flowers blooming, and our soccer and baseball fields occupied; you will also see many projects being completed.  Below is a list of what you can expect.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding these projects please don’t hesitate to give me a call.

  • All the plants (except the trees) along the north side of Kensington will be removed and this area will be replace with grass for easier maintenance (remember the 8 foot tall weed last August?).
  • Some of the rock and plants will be removed from the north side of the parking lot and replaced with grass.
  • All the rock in the remaining gardens will be removed temporarily while weed block is installed.
  • On the south side of the building we will install a gate to provide access to a neighborhood that will be developed.  We have already enclosed the canal for this purpose.  The gate path will have a lit stairway as well as a ramp.
  • The bus loop will be modified to create a larger turning loop allowing buses to pass and move to a designated parking spot.  The sidewalk will be extended around the loop so students will be able to proceed between the buses and the school eliminating the staging lines.
  • Two benches (like the ones at the entrance) will be placed at the front of the school facing the playground and one bench will added at the kindergarten big toy.
  • A fence will be added between the kindergarten big toy and the rock garden to reduce short cuts and that results in distribute rock on the sidewalks and driveways\ creating an ongoing problem for our hard working custodians.
  • Bumper curbs will be added to the teacher parking lot to keep cars from encroaching on the sidewalk, which endangers pedestrian traffic.

 Thank you,

Mike Hansen
Principal
