At Tapteal, all 5th grade students are invited to join the patrol through teacher recommendation, a completed application, and with parent approval. Each year 16-18 students are selected. Students serve either before school or after school. Serving on the patrol provides an excellent opportunity for students to practice safety skills, leadership and experience good citizenship, along with being a role model for other students. Patrol members are responsible for crossing students on busy streets, setting up cones for buses, putting up and taking down the American and State flags and keeping equipment in tip-top shape. For their dedicated hard work, patrol members enjoy some great perks that come with the job. These include get-togethers and an annual end of year celebration. Upcoming 5th grade students are invited to apply for Safety Patrol at the end of the school year. Patrol Advisors for the 2007 - 2008 school year are Mr. Ouellette & Mrs. Henshaw
