Welcome to 3rd grade with Mrs. Wood!

This is a fun-filled yet hardworking class transforming primary children into intermediate students.  I use a variety of teaching methods to help your child be as successful as possible.

You can help too!  Time spent reading with your child is vital.  Our school wide plan is for every student to read at least 20 minutes every night.  Try to establish a set time and place for your child’s reading time.  A reading log will be sent home to log in the books and time spent on nightly reading.  My students are also required to practice their handwriting along with their spelling words every night.  Their practice paper + their reading log + their blue home folder should be turned into the homework basket the very next day to ensure proper credit for their report card.

Our specials are on these days:

Birthdays are important yet let’s keep them simple.  A class set of cupcakes or cookies is all that’s needed.  If you would like to do more, consider donating a book to the class and please let me know if your child doesn’t celebrate birthdays or holidays.

Let’s have an enjoyable third grade experience!
