Physical Education at Jefferson

Jefferson students MOVE in PE!

Kids need physical activity throughout the day – not only to stay healthy, but to help perform better academically. Regular exercise can help improve concentration and attention span, and improve classroom behavior.

Jefferson students work on activities including fundamental ways to move (run, skip, gallop…), cooperation, positive self-identity in a team setting, sports skills (soccer, basketball, tennis…), and lifelong activities such as bowling.

Jefferson students learn that moving is important to maintain a healthy body and brain!

Basketball

A great activity in Spring is Basketball! This will be offered after school 3:30-4:30pm for 4th and 5th grade students. If you would like to join or get more information please contact Miss. Bearden.

Girls On the Run

Girls on the Run is a character development program that combines training for a 5k run/walk with self-esteem enhancing lessons. Girls on the Run is offered at Jefferson twice a year in Spring and Fall.  For more information you can talk with one of our coaches, check out the website or call 509-713-7014.

Go Junior Joggers

Junior Joggers is a fitness program offered to students during their lunch recess. Students jog/walk around the track. Volunteers are needed to hole-punch the jogger cards as the kids complete their laps. The program instills a sense of fitness and encourages a healthy lifestyle. If you would like to help, please contact Kindra Whitemarsh 205-4430. Volunteers will check in at the office and get their visitor sticker, then go to the track.
