HHS
DECA has been incredibly busy this year. The dedicated officer
team has guided the chapter through a variety of new activities
while working to increase new membership and current member
involvement.
The chapter's first activity of the year was a
DECA-sponsored concert featuring local bands. The concert was
held in HHS' Eyrie Gym and had over 150 people in
attendance.
In September, DECA members attended the Marketing
Student Leadership Conference at CBC in Pasco, WA. DECA
members attended a variety of workshops that helped them develop
leadership skills and prepare for the future.
October and
November were busy months for the chapter. Five members attended the
Fall Leadership Conference in Bellevue, WA October 31 through
November 1. Mid-November saw six more DECA members attending the
Western Region Leadership Conference in Albuquerque, NM. In
addition, the chapter sponsored a family for Thanksgiving and
provided a mother and her eight children with a Thanksgiving
meal.
HHS DECA was proud to sponsor the first-ever Winter
Ball at Hanford High School, which was held January 17.
Preparation and hard work paid off in the end as the dance was a big
success and became something for the chapter to be very proud
of.
