6th Grade:This is a 45 day coarse that introduces/ reviews the basic elements of art while exploring art media that may include: charcoal, chalk and oil pastels, watercolor, and clay.This class is also an introduction to art history. Students will become familiar with art terms and laren to be comfortable discussing and critiquing art work.

7th Grade:This is a 45 day coarse that reviews the basic elements of art and introduces some of the principals of design. Assignments and projects are tied to art history lessens, self-evaluation and critical thinking skills. Students will learn to apply some of the elemets and principals of art to solve visual problums creatively. Students explore art media that may include: colored pencils, clay, calk pastels, oil pastels and watercolors.

8th Grade: This is a 90 day coarse that reinforces elements and principals of art from the 6th & 7th grade programs by applying those tools to art history and process art. Students will learn to use the elements and principals of art to solve visual problums creatively and communicate ideas and feelings.Projects will be linked to art history lessons, self-evaluation, and critical thinking skills. Students explore art media that may include: clay sculpture, wheel thrown pottery, water color, pen & ink, and tempra paints.

This is Mr. Rader's14th year teaching, 5th year teaching art, and 3rd year at this school.
