Many young
people believe in the idea of service. They welcome the chance to make
a personal contribution to their school, community, and peers. Builders
Club offers such opportunities to middle school-aged students. Its goal
is to develop leadership qualities in young people through experiences
in volunteer community service. As the motto "We Build" indicates,
Builders Club is for young people who want to take positive, constructive
action to build a better world for themselves and others. Builders Club
members experience the thrill of accomplishment and the satisfaction of
knowing their efforts make a difference for those they help.
The Objectives of Builders Club
explain it best:
- To provide opportunities
for working together in service to school and community.
- To develop leadership potential
- To foster the development
of strong moral character.
- To encourage loyalty to
school, community, and nation.
Middle school years bridge
the gap between childhood and young adulthood. It is a crossroads in life.
Young people need and want new and exciting challenges that direct their
personal development toward the fulfillment of a happy and productive
life. Builders Club helps to build strong leaders for tomorrow...today.
Builders Club provides a way
to form sound personal values based on experiences in meaningful community-service
activities. The members learn by doing. They learn organization, teamwork,
and leadership. But the most important lesson they can learn is that individuals
working together can and will make a difference to the world around them.
