STRENGTHENING FAMILIES PROGRAM
Strengthening Families is an exciting, fun-filled series of classes designed to support parents with new skills for dealing with young teens.  The family gathers for a nutritious dinner provided by the program at 5:30 pm.  After dinner, the youth meet with their peers to learn how to deal with difficult issues such as peer pressure, doing homework and learning to cooperate at home while parents learn ways to cope with changes in their youth.  The family reunites for a family session after the break-outs and practice the new skills together.  The class meets for 2 hour.  Each family will win gift cards and other incentives during the program. Please call 737-2779 to get registered today.  This is a free seven week program that begins at Chief Jo Middle School on October 6, 2009.

SCHOOL SPIRIT SAVINGS PROGRAM

Thank you all for participating in the Badger Mountains Spirit Savings Program last year! Our school is involved in several programs which allow us to benefit from participation. They are: Albertsons Community Partners, Target Credit Card Designation, Box Tops for Education, and Campbell’s Soup Labels. We had a wonderful year and hope to do as well this school year.

The Albertsons Community Partner card can now be linked to your Preferred card. There are two ways to do this:

1) While at checkout, have the checker scan both your Preferred card and the Community Partner card. On subsequent receipts it should state at the end of the receipt that your Community Partner card has been successfully linked.

2) On-line, go to www.albertsons.com and at the web site type in your zip code. Then click on the “In The Community” link. Click on the “Community Partners” icon and follow the directions for linking your two cards. You will need the number that is on the back of your Preferred card, and the Badger Mountain Community Partner number, which is 4 90001 00839 4.

For any future purchases at Albertsons or Sav-on Drugs you will only need to present your Preferred card. Community Partner cards can be picked up from the main office. Remember, out of state family members can use these cards also. (If you have trouble linking your cards, it could be that your phone number has changed since you signed up for your Preferred Card. Please call Albertsons customer service at 1-877-932-7948 and state that you need to update your information. When this is done then you should be able to link the two cards. Your Preferred Card will need to be linking annually in July to continue the great benefits for our school.

Badger Mountain also benefited from the Box Tops for Education program offered by General Mills. Again this year, in addition to collecting box tops, you can sign up for the Box Tops Booster Club or shop on-line via their shopping network. Check out the Box Tops for Education web site at www.boxtopsforeducation.com to sign up for the booster club, find out which products can be collected to turn in, or try out their shopping area for added benefits to our school. Badger Mountain will receive 50? for every person signing up for the booster club and a benefit of up to 10% on qualifying purchases spent in their shopping area.

Our participation in the Campbell’s Soup Label program has been productive. Our accumulation of labels in the past has enabled us to purchase Physical Education equipment for our school. Please visit the Campbell’s Label for Education web site at www.labelsforeducation.com to find an updated list of participating products available for collection.

For parents who shop at Target and make use of the Target card , just designate Badger Mountain as your school beneficiary and we will receive the benefit automatically.

Keep sending in your Box Tops and Campbell’s labels with your children. We also have a drop box in the Albertsons store on Gage and Leslie (the Badger Mountain bulletin board is by the big ice container by all the carts). Please keep up the good work and thank you again for all your participation in these beneficial programs.
