Nominations accepted for
The Richland School District will be accepting nominations in September for its school-based Highly Capable Kindergarten Program. Kindergarten students enrolling in the fall of 2014 may be nominated for the program. The window to submit the Nominations Consent Form is September 1 to September 15. The school-based highly-capable program is designed to meet the needs of students at each elementary school who have exceptional ability by offering challenging and enriching learning experiences through differentiated instruction. Teaching strategies include an emphasis on problem-solving, critical thinking skills, creativity skills and the development of research skills.
Public meeting to review
The Richland School District Boundaries Revisions Committee has been working since March to develop new elementary school boundaries. With the District’s 10th elementary school opening next August, elementary boundary lines must be adjusted prior to the 2015-16 school year. All community members are invited to review the recommended option and give their feedback at a public input meeting on Thursday, September 11, 6:30 pm, at White Bluffs Elementary School.
