School Supply List for

2015-2016 School Year:

Supply List 2015-2016

Summer Office Hours:

Office opens on August 17

Office hours are from 8 – 3 (closed from 12 – 1 for lunch)

Office closed August 19 and 24 until 1:00 (office staff training)

Enrollment Info:

Parents can enroll a child in the Richland School District by going directly to the school in their attendance zone. Badger Mountain school office is now on summer break and will reopen after August 17.

The child’s state certified birth certificate (not the hospital certificate) and a Washington state immunization record listing dates that shots were received are required for registration. Parents will also need to show a document which verifies their address such as a utility bill or rental agreement. Our school secretary will then be able to process the registration request.

The first day of school is September 1.

If you have general enrollment questions, please call the Richland School District Administration Building at 967-6003.

Kinder Registration:

Beginning March 2, parents in the Richland School District may register their children for kindergarten at their neighborhood elementary schools. Registration will continue through the spring.

The child’s state certified birth certificate and an immunization record listing dates that shots were received are required for registration as well as proof of address (i.e. utility bill, rental agreement). To be eligible for kindergarten, the child must be five years of age on or before August 31, 2015. For more information, call 967-6003.

Parents are encouraged to enroll their children as early as possible. Early enrollment helps the District plan more effectively for the number of kindergarten teachers that will be needed at each school in the fall.

For children who turn five between September 1 and December 1, but who are ready socially, emotionally and intellectually for kindergarten, early entrance testing is offered once a year, in mid-August. The test registration deadline is July 31, 2015. For information regarding the test, fees and registration, please contact the Assessment Office at 967-6025 or via email at toni.vonderhulls@rsd.edu.

Monthly Reading Tip:

I read to you, you read to me. Take turns reading aloud at bedtime. Kids enjoy this special time with their parents.
