The science department at Carmichael Middle School has received a $1000 STEM Like Me! grant from the Dream Builder’s Educational Foundation and Mid-Columbia STEM Network. The money will fund a field trip to LIGO** for 300 sixth grade students.

“Our sixth graders recently learned about different STEM careers and completed a STEM career exploration project,” explains Alexa David, science teacher and grant applicant. “Carmichael science teachers will bring this full circle now by having students visit LIGO to observe a real world application of STEM skills.”

The LIGO field trip is scheduled for early April.
