The Richland School District is hosting the Washington Art Education Association (WAEA) fall conference October 10-11 at Hanford High School. Art teachers from across the state will attend and participate in a variety of workshops.

A new discipline program at Chief Joseph Middle School has irked some parents and they want it replaced. But school leaders and other parents say the Make Your Day program is creating a better learning environment and cutting down on time students spend out of class being disciplined.

On Monday, October 6, the Rachel's Challenge Program returns to Carmichael Middle School thanks to a $3500 grant from the Richland Education Foundation. Last year, the all-school assembly triggered a positive response among the Carmichael community including the formation of a Friends of Rachel (FOR) student group.

The Richland School District publishes "Focus on Schools" two or three times a year as a community service to citizens of the area. The news publication is mailed out to 26,000 residences and businesses. A PDF version is posted here.
