The 2012-13 Richland School District calendar is not totally finalized yet. However, there are some dates in next year's calendar that have been tentatively approved and are currently being used for planning (these dates may be subject to change):

First day of school - Tuesday, August 28

Winter break - the weeks of December 24 & 31

Spring break - April 1 to 5

Graduation ceremonies - Friday, May 31

Last day of school - Friday, June 7

Due to weather closures this year, the last day of school will be Monday, June 11.

The other snow make-up day will be Friday, May 25.  This will be a PLC early release day.

Also, Friday, June 8, will be a PLC early release day.

Dear Richland School District Parents and Guardians:

This letter is to clearly describe some changes in the District calendar for the last few weeks of school:

Friday, May 25, and Friday, June 8, are the two make-up snow days. On these two Fridays, schools will run on the regular Friday PLC schedule where students are dismissed one hour early. This means that on Friday, May 25, and Friday, June 8, please plan on these dismissal times:

* High Schools/Middle Schools: Students dismissed at 1:30 (1:25 for HHS & EMS)
* Elementary Schools: Students dismissed at 2:15

Monday, June 11, is the new last day of school, and students will be dismissed early from school. Please plan on these dismissal times:

* High Schools: Students are in final exams and dismissal times vary
* Middle Schools: Students dismissed at 11:00 (10:55 for EMS)
* Elementary Schools: Students dismissed at 12:30

For students in the District's pre-school programs, the last day of school will be Thursday, June 7.
