Parents can enroll a child in the Richland School District by going directly to the school in their attendance zone. Parents will need to show the child's immunization record and also show a document which verifies their address such as a utility bill, rental agreement, or purchase agreement showing date of possession. A school secretary will then be able to process the registration request.

We encourage parents to enroll their children anytime after March 1. Early enrollment helps the District plan more effectively for the number of teachers that will be needed at each school in the fall.

Beginning March 1, parents in the Richland School District may register their children for kindergarten at their neighborhood elementary schools. We encourage parents to enroll their children as early as possible. Early enrollment helps the District plan more effectively for the number of kindergarten teachers that will be needed at each school in the fall.

The child's birth certificate and a Washington state immunization record listing dates that shots were received are required for registration. Parents will also need to show a document which verifies their address such as a utility bill or rental agreement. To be eligible for kindergarten, the child must be five years of age on or before August 31, 2010. For more information, call 967-6003.

For students who turn five between September 1 and December 1, but who are ready socially, emotionally and intellectually for kindergarten, early entrance testing is offered once a year, in mid-August.
