In June 2013, the Richland School Board selected Design West, Kennewick, to be the architectural firm for the new Marcus Whitman Elementary School project. The new Marcus Whitman will be 65,000 square feet in size and house 630 students. The new Marcus Whitman will be built in exactly the same location as the existing school. This means that Marcus Whitman students will be displaced to the old Sacajawea Elementary School for the 2015-16 school year. Listed below is the project timeline.
